OT re- Guinea Pigs
Fantastic news for Animal Rights supporters and guinea pigs. It has
taken 6 years of campaigning, but finally the Halls have given in and agreed to stop breeding guinea pigs for vivisection. What a great run they've had recently, what with fur farms banned, fox hunting banned and now this! |

Is hare coursing still done over there? Guinea pigs are wonderful little animals. The longhaired babies are about the cutest things you ever saw. They kinda remind me of tribbles. Sherry I thought they ARE tribbles!!!!!!! I'm reluctant to celebrate pressure tactics that might affect medical research, being as I benefit from the results of said research. -- Cheryl Ooh, I don't remember the tribbles. I also benefit from medical research, I guess we all do to some degree, I just think that there's better ways than using animals, but they're probably more expensive which is always a factor with drug companies. I truly believe that some of it is totally unnecessary, such as testing new pain killers, we've surely already got enough already. Anyway, I won't get into that debate on this newsgroup, or you'll never shut me up, it's my pet issue! |
