Default new cat bed

We went out shopping yesterday and I wanted to get a bed for Cinnamon. I
had put a small blanket on the floor under the end table in the living
room next to the couch for her. Cinnamon knows we won't let the other
cats bother her. I switched the beds around and as Cinnamon is the
smallest I gave her the one Samwise was sleeping in. I just changed the
little blankets around in the beds and no one was any the wiser.

Samwise does not like change. He must of thought he got smaller. He had
to squeeze into the other bed and always had a foot sticking out. He had
also squashed one side of the soft side bed down from laying his head
there. The new soft side bed has a lower spot in the front. Last night
he was laying in the bed with his head on the low spot.

At first Cinnamon wasn't sure about the bed but, I tempted her with cat
nip. In a short time she was curled up in the bed sleeping. I've been
trying to do things to make life easier for her as she is 17 years old
and not in the best of health. She is about 4 1/2 pounds and I worry
about her feeling cool in the house. She spent most of the evening in
the bed.

I'm glad she likes her new bed. In my experience elderly cats can lose
weight and need to be kept warm. KFC was around that weight and I kept her
very warm.
You might try a baby's duvet and ruffle it up into a small tent for her.
It's warmer than a cat bed for the old ladies.

Default new cat bed

Amber (18) has a window seat with an electric heating pad. She spends
most of the day there. At night I place an insulating shield against
the window. Some nights she sleeps on my bed which has an electric
blanket.
