"lewe" wrote in message ... Hi all, I am working late and just went down to open the garage from the outside for a car. Walking along the office building I saw a small black shape very still on the driveway. I knew it was what I wished it not to be, a little sweet black feral kitty. She looked all dead, even if she couldn't have been lying there for very long. I touched her neck and side to make sure. By chance a woman just then walked to a spot I've guessed were used for feeding ferals. So I went and asked if she recognised the little one as one of the group, ruling out an owner (there are some mad people who let their cats out among cars and whatnot here). She knew Little Black Kitty and told me they had been hoping to tame her. She said she'd take care of her, and I got something to put her in. Please purr for her passing to the bridge. And for the brave people that try to help the ferals. I was told they normally can only try to catch them to have them put to sleep before the city regularly "remove" them. They did have a recent success taming and placing one kitty. I am sad to say I an mot good enough a person to actually do something to help. A candle has been lit to guide this poor little one, who never found

It's always hard to see a dead kitty (or any other critter for that
matter) on the side of the road. It breaks my heart every single time. Purrs for the little black kitty and for the wonderful person that took care of her in her short life. Purrs to you for feeling bad and for donating money. Sometimes it's the most we can do and it most certainly helps. -- Victor Martinez Owned and operated by the Fantastic Seven (TM) Send your spam he Email me he |

The city puts ferals down??? I am appalled. Do they not know about TNR there? Managing feral colonies? To think all these feral babies are being put down is awful. Don't feel bad for not doing more, lewe. We can all only do what we can do. Even sending money *does* help. I wish I could help every single stray and feral cat, but I just don't have the resources or the energy, so I help when I can, and hope other kind hearts out there help with a few, and others send a few bucks to shelters, and so on. We all do the best we can, so please try not to feel bad about that. Purrs for the kitty. Ginger-lyn |
