Default Speckles update

Thank you all so very much for your responses to my plea for purrs for
Speckles. I'm overwhelmed. You are the kindest folks - I know your
caring is genuine and is very much appreciated.

I had hoped at a minimum that Speck would hold on at least through the
holidays but at this point I doubt she'll make it through the weekend.
We took her to the vet again Wednesday; the news is not good. A new
development shows that her liver is nearly shot - the test results
were that damage was severe - off the charts, over 100 points above
the highest "normal" range. It's also affecting her kidneys. The vet
doesn't know what "assaulted" the liver. Shocking, too, is that
X-rays showed the blasted hairball has returned, despite all the goop
put down her to prevent it. We ended up with four different pills to
give her - one once a day, one twice a day, one three times a day, and
another twice a day. Much of her day is spent popping pills!! But
she is fading and our hearts are broken.

Again, thank you for your support.

Jeanne

There's not a lot to say to this, apart from you and Speckles are very
much in our thoughts, purrs and prayers.

It's so very hard to lose a beloved friend.

Purring for you and Speckles- this has not been a good week for those
of us prone to "Misty Monitor Syndrome"

I'm so sorry to hear this, Jeanne! You will be in our hearts and our
thoughts. Purring that speckles will have an easy trip to the bridge where
she'll be young and healthy again.

Hugs,

I'm so sorry to hear, Speckles is near the end. Purrs that her remaining
time is comfortable. Purrs for your pain and purrs for, Hobo, I hope he
doesn't grieve for long. :-(

Oh Jeanne I'm so sorry to hear this. You know, there really could be
something more there. Grant had that enormous hairball but it was on account
of the stomach cancer (which was not detectable on xray as it was not a
"tumor" kind but the kind where the wall of the stomach thickens and is
abnormal). I suppose the normal juices just weren't flowing. Purrs that
Speckles remaining time is quality time. Give her skritches and kissies from
us.
