Humans:

Tweed and Victor's mom - surgeries

Jobs and financial:

Seanette and hubby, Nancy and Dan, (I know there are more in this
category but can't find them on this slow connection. Please remind me!)

I don't need any myself, but I've been thinking about Bluebird and her
Little Bit lately. I'm pretty sure she'd be tickled pick to know we're
thinking of her.

And maybe add a weather category. I'm afraid with this very active
hurricaine season the folks in the South and eastern part of the
States will nee recurring purrs.

Excellent ideas! They are added to the list. I'll send out a new list
tomorrow or thereabouts.

Takayuki had some very interesting things to
say about My weird kids [was An idea for a mass purr day]:

Felix and Ava have daily purr/coo sessions.
Yes, the bird has been renamed. "He" surprised us this morning, after
20 months of acquaintance, with an egg [she's an only bird].

What a surprise! After more than a year, it seems a bit late to
change her name.

One reason we went with something so similar to her original name. I'm
sure she's confused enough at this point. :-)

Guess Ava got tired of being called "he/him" and decided to provide a
little visible proof that she's a girl.

We'd actually been pretty solidly convinced we had a male dove before
that little surprise. :-)

I know didn't say you wanted any advice, so feel free to ignore the
rest of this post. First off, I don't really know a whole lot about
your type of bird, both of mine are cockatiels, but the advice would
probably work for Ava. From what I've read and been told, egglaying
not really good for the bird health, since they can become eggbound
and may need an adjustment to the diet (may need calcium, which they
can get from a cuttlebone which you hang from the side of the cage).

We offered her one when she first moved in with us, and she completely
ignored it. We've heard from other dove owners that softbills
generally don't like cuttlebones.
