Smudgie is Lost!
"Sharon & Smudgie" wrote in message
... "CatNipped" wrote in message ... Don't forget the kids in your neighborhood. With the promise of a few dollars they will scour the neighborhood for you - especially now that they're out of school and have nothing to do but play all day. *And* they're small enough to get into place an adult couldn't, and are more persistant than an adult would be. A cat search could be a really fun game to play especially if they can look forward to a small reward to spend on ice cream or candy! Hugs, CatNipped The kids here don't break for summer for another few weeks. However, here is a high school at the other end of our road so I dotted lots of the posters on lamp posts around there so the kids can't miss seeing them on their way home. I didn't put about a reward on the leaflet but told the kids who saw me putting them up that there was a reward for whoever found her and figured word would spread! I asked the local primary school about putting up a poster but they weren't interested so I have been stopping and talking to the younger kids I see on my walkabouts and letting them know too. Thank you for the suggestion Sharon We're still purring and praying for you and Smudgie - don't give up home, we've had cats here who gone "walk about" for weeks and a time and finally make their way home. I know how terrible that feels, however, the not knowing, so we sending lots and lots of hugs your way also...{{{{{{{{{{Sharon}}}}}}}}}}. -- Hugs, CatNipped See our clowder at: http://www.PossiblePlaces.com/CatNipped/ See the RPCA FAQ site, by Mark Edwards, at: http://www.professional-geek.com/rpcablog/ |

Smudgie is Lost! - a possible sighting!!
Thank you again everyone. We got a call around 11 last night to say a cat matching her description had been seen in the back garden of an empty house - 100 yards away from our garden diagonally. We went round with torch etc but there was no sign of her. I went back round this morning armed with a step ladder (garden is enclosed by an 8 ft wall) and spent half an hour looking and calling but no luck. I have to go into work for 3 hours this morning so I have left my mobile number on my home answering machine and will take her carrier etc with me just in case I get another call. The couple who rang me last night will keep a close eye out for her today and try to entice her with food. If they cant get her to come to them they will ring me and I will go straight round and have another try. Only downside is the cat they saw looks as though her back legs may be injured Looks like the purrs may be working Sharon p.s. got a baby monitor ready for tonight Ohhhhh, this has GOT to work..do you happen to have a laser pointer for her to chase? I thought of that last night . About the kitty's legs, don't worry until you see it/her, then you can deal with it. Mosey is purring and I am praying sweetie Love Kyla |

I have put leaflets thru doors and on lamp posts etc. I am so worried and am hoping the "power of the purrs" will help guide her home. Thank you so much Sharon Your mama wants you home, Smudgie. We're purring for you to come back. Please. Blessed be, Baha Just a quick update to say there's still no news so we are going to do a midnight walkabout tonight with torches to shine under all the shrubs around here. I wasn't around to see this yesterday so am coming in a bit late. Boyfie is sending his best GYFB home purrs, he only has a very quiet purr, but Smudgie should hear them as she is a Brit. You've done the best thing by putting up posters in the neighbourhood which is what I did, and I see downthread you've already had a call with a possible sighting. If she is, indeed, in the garden of the empty house with an 8 foot wall around it, with a back leg injury as suggested, it may not necessarily be a bad thing - she may have sustained a minor injury jumping down and it may mean she cannot get out. If the garden is overgrown she will probably be hiding, frightened about how she suddenly got lost. If the house is for sale and has a board outside, you might approach the estate agents to see if they will let you have a key to get in a side gate so you can look for her which will save you scaling 8' up a ladder. You must be desperately worried and I am feeling for you. Is she microchipped? I only ask because if she continues to panic and gets more lost, she will eventually have to present herself somewhere to beg for food. Microchipping is the only realistic way to get your cat back or know what happened. Lots of luck finding her very soon, Sharon. Tweed Oh, btw, if you live in a quiet place where children play out, as I do, show the smaller ones her photo and ask them to be cat detectives and find her. They love this sort of thing and may be too short to see your posters. |

Getting so worried now Sharon Still purring and praying for her to come to you. I'm not sure where you live, but you might try a laser pointer dot for her to chase.. then you can grab her. And take some nip with you too? Some treats.. I'm out of ideas... Bless your hearts. Love and best GYFBH wishes to Smudgie She isn't lost, you just cant find her. Kyla -- still very hopeful |

I'm so sorry, I hope Smudgie will find her courage to make her way home to you safely. I'll get Francesca on Purr Patrol when I get home and set out the homing beacons so that Smudgie will return safe and unharmed. Melissa Thank you again everyone.
