CatNipped

I can't HEEEEEEERRR YOU

Pam S. giggling

I SAID, "I LOVE THE SANITY YOU BRING TO THIS GROUP!" TO TWEED.

Sucks to get old and lose your hearing, huh!? ?;

Hugs,

CatNipped ------ ducking and running

LOL ?Worse, I'm losing my HAIR.

Pam S. going bald

Oh gawd, tell me about it! ?Almost every medication I'm on lists
hair loss
as a side effect. ?I tell my hair stylist, when she asks what style
I want,
that you have to have *hair* before you can have a *hairstyle*.

Hugs,

CatNipped ?--------- starting to look like Donald Trump from
combing over
the bald spots! ?;- Hide quoted text -

I wish it was possible to donate hair to someone else. Nature
compensated my lack of vertical inches with what I call weed hair. It
just grows, and grows.

-----------------------------------------------

Actually, there are groups that will accept donations for hair in
order to make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy. ?I would
have to do a little
research on the internet to find the who and the how. ?Which brings
to mind,
for some reason, the story "The Gift of the Magi". ?Remember that one
(and it's been a long time since I read it so minor details may be
wrong)? ?It was about a young married couple who were very much in
love and very, very poor. ?She had long, thick hair that she was very
proud of, and he wanted to
buy her a hair clip for Christmas. ?He had a gold pocket watch that
he got from his father and cherished, and she wanted to by him a fob
for his watch.
Neither had the money for the gifts they wanted to give. ?Christmas
morning
came and when she opened hers she saw a gorgeous hair clip. ?He
opened his and he saw a beautiful watch fob. ?But she had cut and
sold her long hair in
order to buy his gift, and he had sold his watch in order to buy her
gift. I've always loved that story as it exemplifies the spirit of
giving.

Unfotunately it can't be color treated, my hair is highlighted. I
meant donating hair plugs of living hair to fill in your bald/thin
spots. I had a 14in ponytail, I'd cut off I wanted to donate but
couldn't.

Hmmm, I wonder why that is - it seems silly unless there is a medical
reason they don't want chemicals in the donated hair.

Hugs,

CatNipped

It might be for the same reason they can't accept more than a small
percentage of grey hair in the donation. It takes, I believe, 5 or 6
donations to make one wig. Then they dye it, and we all know that it's
very difficult to dye grey hair - sometimes it comes out pink or blue!
So, maybe it's also difficult to dye previously colour treated hair and
have it all come out uniformly, and the right colour.

Default For Yowie and Wow (was: Did You Set Your Clocks Back?)

@mid.individual.net:

One hour? Daylight Savings Time.

I just saw this on the WoW newsgroup. (Background: Blizzard is the
publisher of WoW, and takes the game servers offline about once a week for
maintenance, or whenever they need to patch things to fix bugs. And WoW
players are like nicotine fiends jonesing for a fix when that happens.
Maintenance times are quoted on the game's login screen in the Pacific time
zone.)

Speaking of PDT, my wife showed me this the other day. Not knowing
what PDT is can be forgiven. Not knowing what PDT is when you live in
California, priceless.
