Dave Gerecke's Dad

Thanks for the update.. Fingers, toes and paws crossed for a quick recovery.

I have been in e-mail correspondence with Dave since Tuesday. I know a
lot of you have been purring for his Dad, so I have gotten permission
from Dave to post what he writes about him. He sent messages both

Dad has had his op this morning. Started at 0900hrs and finished at
about 1500hrs. 3 bypasses and mitral valve replacement. While we saw
him, he was still out to it and the nursing staff did not expect him to
wake up till about 2400hrs.

Mom is bearing up well, as are Jan, Steve and me. Next 24 hours will
tell the tale as to how soon he can home. Blood vessels were taken from
his leg only - seems that some good ones were found there. Will keep
you all posted as to results.

Today:

Yesterday:Saw him this morning. He is conscious, but has a tube in his
mouth for breathing so he can't talk. This is normal. We will be going
back at 1130hrs to be with him for another 2 hours.
