I did it and I'm glad!

WOOOO HOOOO!!! What a great way to celebrate! Happy Birthday!

Maybe by the time I'm 70, I'll have developed the courage (or lost
sufficient common sense) to go skydiving, too. For now, I'll happily
stay on the ground or deeply ensconced in any flying vehicles, thank
you.

But I think it's wonderful that you did that. You've really lived up
to your name!

I just got too far behind and knew I could never catch up, so I deleted
everything here when I turned on my computer this morning. For the past

few
days I've been away from the computer a lot, and thinking about other
things.

I was away from home all day Saturday, celebrating my 70th birthday.

Among
other things, I celebrated by jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
I've decided skydivers need a motto. The Marines have, "The few, the

I did it and I'm glad!

Was it fun though?

Yes it was! The other jumpers were so nice, too. There were a bunch of
experienced jumpers on the plane, some of whom were going to do a formation
jump. They all sang Happy Birthday to me, and after I landed, they all
gathered around to congratulate me.

Thank you, Polonca. I suspect you're a lot younger than I am. I never
thought I could do such a thing until a few months ago, when I decided I'd
like to try it.

Thank you, Bev. Yes, I'm a 1935er too.

Happy purrday Joy, from another 70-year-old who would never have had the
courage to be a skydiver. Well done.
Our birthdays are only three months apart so I guess you are a 1935er, it
was a vintage year.

She's much braver than this 70 year old. You'd probably have to pry
my fingers off the edge of the door of the plane.

That's what I always used to say - until a few months ago.

My late DH always said that there were only 2 things that fell from
the sky. Bird poop and dang fools. (I cleaned it up a bit.)

My instructor told me that - after we were back on the ground. ;-)

Belated Happy Birthday to you! You are such a dynamo! Have you ever been
skydiving before?
Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Charleen

Thank you. Nope, this was my first time. Until a few months ago, I used to
say that if I were wearing a parachute and in a burning plane, someone would
have to push me out, and then pry my fingers away from the doorway.

Congratulations. I'm glad you survived. You are braver (or more insane)

OMG! You did it Joy!
My hero...!
I admire you for that. My dear friend Vicky who passed away 2 years
ago from breast cancer embodied that song "I Hope You Dance", even to
her final days. She encouraged everyone to embrace their dreams, even
if they have to be adjusted because of time or illness. "To dance like
no one is watching." But I've become apprehensive about change and
risk through the years.... So, bully for you!!
