Default Shamus at the RB

I'm posting this for a friend of mine who just lost her cat, Shamus. She
doesn't use the Usenet, AFAIK

Hi, TC,
Today we had our beautiful and well-loved cat, Shamus, euthanized.
After some extensive and no doubt unpleasant testing, the vets found that he
had a large mass in the abdominal area, and evidence that it had penetrated
the intestinal wall as well. They felt that surgery was not an option, that
there would be no quality of life left. We had him for 11 years, but it was
not enough. He was a great cat to the end. I know you know how we feel.
Kathy
