We did it here last week- I completely hate the clocks being messed

I have no idea why Kyla finds it necessary to remind everyone to change
their calendars or their clocks. We aren't 6 years old.

Jill

I must be 6 years old. My classic rock radio station is not into public
service announcements, and I haven't read a newspaper lately.

So I didn't know until I saw this.

So I will say "thank you" to Kyla, rather than complain about a post you
don't have to read, or comment on.

Let's keep things friendly he is it really necessary to *complain*
about someone posting about a timely matter? (no pun intended, of
course..!)

You're welcome and it was a great pun IMO LOL
I didn't even bother with the calenders
I certainly didn't want to cause any disruption.

Peace
Kyla

Thanks, Gandalf, my thoughts exactly. And, btw, I didn't hear anything
about this weekend being the one to set clocks back (some Americans might
have noticed that we're about to have a major election, and that's all I
ever hear about), so I also appreciate the message.

Some people are just naturally bitchy, and they just feel better when they
offload some of that nastiness on others. And then we hear how "stressed
out" they are, as a (*constant*) excuse for bad behavior. Guess what? A
lot of us are stressed out. Look at all the crap Ginger-lyn has to deal
with. Yet I've never heard her say a mean thing to anyone.

Joyce

You're right about that, Joyce.
I feel so bad for what Ginger-lyn is going through as well.
And Kili.
I'm glad you all appreciated the reminder, the ones who said they did.
You're most welcome.
Anyone who doesn't like me or my posts is free to use their killfile.
I like to keep the peace.
Wonder why they don't do DST in Arizona?

Default Did You Set Your Clocks Back?

Luckily my minister sent out an email reminder, which I didn't delete. I
remembered to set my clocks all right, but did a few at a time. After the
first few I sat back at the computer. When I saw her email again, I
realized I had set my clocks *forward* an hour. I'm sure glad she sent that
email, and that I saved it.

Every year some people forget. I remember once, many years ago, my husband
and I went to church. We thought we arrived about 15 minutes early, but the
service had already started. It wasn't until after the service was over
that we realized we had forgotten to set our clocks back, and instead of
arriving early for the 11:00 service, we had arrived during the 9:30
service.

I don't know why you find it necessary to make cracks about Kyla's posts.
If you don't like them, delete them. Or put her in your killfile, if she
bothers you that much.

So you're telling me your computer doesn't automatically reset the
clock for EST as opposed to DST? Are you still running DOS?! I
don't need a net "mommy" telling me what day it is, that's all. Mayhaps
you do. Jill

You sound crabby. You could probably use more sleep. I appreciated
getting a reminder. MLB

Crabby? My mother broke her ****in hip. She's not strong enough to
survive surgery. How's that for crabby? Geezlepeets who gives a flying
**** what time it is?! killfile me, I don't care.

Jill

It isn't Kyla's fault your mother isn't well or that she broke her hip.
There's no reason to take it out on her.

And I don't need a net brat bitching about nothing.

Gandalf wrote:

You may recall that DST was changed by the Federal Govt't not long ago;
both the 'start' and 'stop' date were changed.

So the pre programming on my computer (and my watch, too) no longer
matches the 'actual' day that DST starts and stops.

My computer did the change a few weekends ago, when it was *programmed*
to do so. I set it back at the time, but then it didn't do it today,
when I could have used the reminder.

Deep Cleansing breaths everyone. IIIIIINNNNN OOOOUUUUTTTT repeat.

I'm like Jill in that I find reminders to do natural things like changing
calendars and times and such an offensive intrusion. I wouldn't have seen
this if it hadn't been replied to, and if I had, I'd have ignored it and
considered the source. So, everyone calm down, take deep breaths, check our
medicines and make sure the levels are correct, and relax.

Pam S. who doesn't consider Jill a brat, but does agree that she is under
way too much stress lately

wow what a condescending response. if all you folks who advocate just
ignoring annoying posts would follow your own advice, most of the
nasty posts would just die out quietly.

and I agree with Jill -- Kyla needs to get a clue. or maybe volunteer
her time to work with a bunch of preschoolers

And if they feel like they've been grumpy or nasty, and apologize??

I haven't heard an apology.

It's one thing if someone gets irritable in the midst of an interaction,
and snaps at the other person, or gets impatient or critical of what the
other person is saying. I can understand that. But when someone simply
feels the need to pick on a person who *was not talking directly to her*,
and thus *starting* a fight, I find that objectionable. And I don't think
that life difficulties are a reasonable excuse for that.

yeah but this really is an ongoing thing with Kyla, Joyce. And no
matter how many times she promises to post less and try harder not to
get on people's nerves, after a couple weeks she's right back where
she was, commenting on every single post and posting about many off
topic subjects that accomplish nothing but to annoy folks. It's not
just about telling adults that there will be a time change, it's about
sharing her every waking thought and worry with folks who just want to
talk about cats!

She is harmless. Not snide and supercilious like some people. Who gives
a damn whether she reminds people about the time change? And where is it
written that "adults" can do everything, including remember everything?
You're conveniently ignoring the fact that I have said (twice) that I
wouldn't have remembered the time change if not for her post. And I'm not
the only one.

I took it as a simple, friendly reminder. There is absolutely nothing
condescending about it. Talk about looking for an insult where none is
present. You just don't like her, that's all it is. So you interpret
everything she says and does in a negative way, even if what she says
is harmless and well-meant. That is called scapegoating.
