I have two friends and, none of are Jewish but we say shalom. It is a
beautiful word and just feels warm.

I can't get my mouth around words like Aloha. Some end with --ha sound and
some with ---oha and it does make a difference. Maybe the part of the
country I am from makes the difference. I have never had a chance to hear
someone say it slow enough so I can get the feel of it. I hate it when we
slaughter words in other languages.

When you say aloha, you are saying God is with us.

Thank you. I also heard, when I was in Oahu,
that it also means hello and goodbye.

It means a lot of things. It can mean hello, goodbye, or I love you.
Aloha
is a state of mind.

It's interesting that "I love you" became the word for "hello" and
"goodbye". It's a nice way to greet people and to leave them.

That's not unlike the Hebrew word "shalom" which means peace. But that's
also what people say for hello and goodbye - another friendly way to
meet'n'greet.

You're right about bald being good on the right man but not when you
get that bald spot on top, part your hair real low and comb a few
hairs over the bald spot. Yuck.
DH has beautiful thick shortish curly hair and a moustache and
beard. I'm not fond of beards without a moustache at all..
He trusts me enough to trim his hair for him. Kyla

A friend of mine used to do the 'comb over' it looked ridiculous. I don't
see so much of him these days as I now live 300 miles away but when I went
down for his 50th birthday in March he had a sensible short haircut. It
actually made him look younger.

Well, under any and all circumstances, I think of myself as the right

If I were losing hair I would shave it all off. I still have a full

gray in them. WooToo likes to groom the mustache, so it HAS to stay.

You should probably listen to your Mom. Just kidding, couldn't resist
the hair cut remark. So long as you are not bald on top, leave it
long
but, when the top goes don't. JMO.

She knows. The cats can tell you if you listen. They can see the
Bridge. I don't know about religion and I have no idea of WHAT goes
on
after we go but my Woo-Too is in touch with my Mom. I know that. Ever
since I got her after my Mom passed away she has been my connection
to
Mom. I know, through her, that my Mom exists, that she loves us and
that she would like me to cut my hair.

So listen to to the cats. This does not mean you have to eat a lizard
if they give you one.

Everyone hates the comb-over. Everyone. I have never in my life heard
anyone say, "Doesn't he look great with that comb-over hairstyle?"

So why do guys keep doing it? Yeah, yeah, to "hide" the bald spot. But
they know everyone thinks it's ridiculous and they know it doesn't fool
anyone, and it looks much worse than the bald spot.

So why do they keep doing it?

Yes, it makes an amazing difference. I buzzed off DH's a few years
ago. I think
he looks great. He thinks I look great. Neither one of us can see
without our
glasses, so that's probably a blessing too.
I don't know what we look like to other people, but we always get
offered the Senior Citzen
Discount.
Kind of back to cats, it's startling how old Yoda's face looks when I
look at photos of him
taken years ago. Cats do show age in their faces. His face looks
"faded" now, so I'm
assuming that's gray hair.
Cherokee had black flecks in his eyes. I cannot remember what the vet
called them, but
he said it was an indicator that a cat's age was in double digits.

This past year TuTu has some black patches come in her eyes. I have
been wondering if they were age spots. She is 12 now. MLB

I think of it as "good news and bad news". The bad news is, you're
getting older. The good news is, your eyesight is going, which softens
the blow when you look in the mirror.

Until you get glasses!

I recently got driving glasses, and it's amazing how much clearer
everything looks at a distance. I didn't even realize how fuzzy my long-
distance vision had gotten because it was so gradual. I can actually see
the leaves on the trees!

I'm also able to see myself very clearly now, when standing at a distance
from a mirror. OMG, is *that* what people with good eyesight can see
when they look at me??

Kind of back to cats, it's startling how old Yoda's face looks when I

I know what you mean. Smudge has been showing signs of age for the past
few years now. Mostly what I notice is bags under her eyes. Seriously!
It's not darker under her eyes, but there's a little curved line beneath
each eye that didn't used to be there. My little granny cat. A friend
of mine joked about "kitty botox", LOL.
