Those are gorgeous cats. They look fat, sassy and healthy (and they
look like they've
got the run of your place). Sammy particularly is such a beautiful
cat. How old is
she now?
Thanks for sharing!

I'm terrible at remembering birthdates, but as near as I Sammy was
born in Jan of 2001, which means she's about 8 - and still my kitten
kitty. According to TED, Little Bit is about two and a half pounds
overweight, which is quite a bit when the ideal weight is 8 lbs. She's
lost about half a pound since I switched to Iams diet kibble 6 months
ago.

Very cute! Sorry, I don't recall - is Frank a new acquisition?

I love this one. We have a similar situation at our house on sunny
winter days. However, we usually have at least one cat at any given
time lying just outside of the sunlight. I'm assuming the sunlight gets
too warm if one lies there too long, and a shade break is needed.

No, Frank is a neighborcat who spends about 90% of his time on my
patio. His hoomins leave him out pretty much 24/7, and I let him in
when the weather is bad.

yeah, if you count noses you see that there are only four in the first
pic. I think Sammy is the one missing, but it's hard to tell since the
pic is dark. The bedroom window faces the same way, so when someone
isn't by the patio they're usually in the bedroom. Everybody made it
in the next shot, but LB and Spot are almost out of the sunshine.

Lovely girls (and boy). I love the ones where they are all gathered in
the strip of sunshine.

When you were talking about your kitties' weight I thought if you were
interested I have a very good weblink written by a vet re cat nutrition and
health that I gave out to all the prospective adopters that I talked to in
our rescue group. It is www.catinfo.org
There is a link to feline obesity on the sidebar, too.
I feed my four a good canned food (mine get Wellness, which has no added
grains) twice a day on a strict schedule. When two of mine needed to lose
weight I did it over a year's period of time - I fed the same food but
regulated the amount they got based on their caloric needs and I used a
postage scale (Escali Digital Postag Scale) and weighed my guys on a
monthly basis. It's a good way to track their general health as well as
watch weight issues over time.
hope this info might be useful,
Christine
