Kids invited to learn how to care for pets
I love this idea and especially the part about the kids making cat
toys for area shelters. This seems like a great idea for a shelter fund-raiser. An event called "Pet Prep 101" will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at McIntosh High School. Geared toward elementary and middle schoolers, the program is intended to educate kids about different kinds of pets, their costs and care, as well as about wildlife not suitable as pets. The event includes adoptable animals, a vet tech and an animal trainer. Children will also be making cat toys for area shelters. Admission is $4 with one can of cat or dog food, $5 without. Adults are free. Any money raised over and above expenses will be donated to Fayette County Animal Shelter and FC Humane Society. |
