Bottled Water (WAS: Apologies to group, especially Pat)
"badwilson" wrote in message ... We are having the coolest little unit installed in our new house. When you turn on the hot water tap, it takes the cold water that's sitting in the pipes and recirculates it and heats it up instantly. Once it senses that the actual hot water has reached the tap, the unit shuts off automatically and you are on the "real" hot water. So you don't end up wasting water while running your taps waiting for the hot water to arrive. -- Britta Purring is an automatic safety valve device for dealing with happiness overflow. You can google On-Demand Water Heaters or Tankless Water Heaters to find out more. -- Joey Dee from NYC Remember: It is To Laugh a few Ketzl pix http://tinyurl.com/2a5u8b |

No, it's not the same thing as an on demand water heater. That would be a water heater that's your only water heater. What we're having is a solar hot water heater on the roof of our house with a wet back in the wood stove which will also heat water more in the winter when it's not as sunny. Then there is also an electric booster if neither of those are enough. But since all the water heating stuff is located quite far away from the master bathroom, it would take a long time for the hot water to actually reach the shower or bathroom sink, so we have this unit called the DUX readyhot, which only operates for a minute or so to heat the cold water in the hot water pipes. Then when it senses that the actual hot water has arrived, the unit turns itself off. I hope this makes more sense. -- Britta Purring is an automatic safety valve device for dealing with happiness overflow. Check out pictures of Vino at: http://picasaweb.google.com/badwilson |

I don't always follow up on the latest. I didn't realize that some would think that's selfish but I can see how it would be. I know among the older regulars I'm thought of and Eve is well remembered. I'd tell you I'll try to be more active but I never seem to make good on that. Gracie |

I started attending Saturday matinees back in the late 1930's, and they were selling fresh buttered popcorn then (also something called "Milk Duds", so I presume other kinds of candy, too.) Milk Duds are still around. You can still get them in theaters (and in stores). I used to like them, but I wouldn't eat them now - they're the type of candy that can take the fillings right out of your teeth! Also the metal bands, if you have braces! (Braces were the reason I never got the gum-chewing habit, but carmels were less resistable.) That brought back another memory. My Uncle had an employee who did nothing but scrape gum off the bottom of his theatre seats. MLB |
