Default OT man-eating squirrels

Well, squirrels attacking woman on bicycle anyhow

I was out for my afternoon jaunt and I was cycling up this here hill (yes, we
do have them in Norfolk) and in front of me I heard what can only be described
as the sound I imagine a duck would make if trying to lay an ostrich egg...
this was accompanied by nuts raining down on the road in front of me. I looked
up and there on a branch were two squirrels making the most obscene noises at
me and throwing their nuts at me (oooh-err Missus...).

It's bad enough with the way some motorists endanger us but when the local
wildlife enters into the fray, it's a bit bad

Cheers, helen s ;-)

ROTFL! I'm sorry, I'm sure it wasn't funny when it was happening, but
it does make funny reading.

Thanks Joy - I could see the funny side of it at the time. I was thinking of
getting a catapoult and lobbing a few back at them.

Cheers, helen s

Squirrels must get feisty at this time of year because the 2 who
frequent my horse chestnut tree have been throwing conkers (in their
outer casings) at the cats and me for a couple of weeks now. I love
your description of the noise they make, very accurate.

At least it was just acorns being hurled at me and not conkers - which are
bigger.

Mind you, it's a good job I was wearing a lid!

Cheers, helen s

Ahhhhh...... the cats need lids, you don't happen to know of a
supplier do you ?

Two things come to mind to remedy the situation:

First of all you could take Waffles the super hunter on your bike rides and
she will take care of all squirrels and other upstart wildlife.

Secondly--what kind of outfit were you wearing? Maybe it was a comment on
your sense of style. BEG

LOL! Those squirrels have a nasty mouth on them, don't they? You should hear
them swearing over the cats out on the island. And sometimes, a pine cone or
a fir cone comes plummeting down on you while you hear them cursing up in
the tree tops. Coincidence? I don't think so.
