Default OT first of the year

Mad March Hare that is! I was putting out some food for the birds this morning
and there it was, in the field only a couple of hundred yards away, running
around quite happily - a hare. It's my first Mad March Hare of 2004 :-)

The pheasant seems to have taken residence under a large bush in the garden.
I've told him that's not a good place to try to raise a family, but I don't
think he's listening.

Cheers, helen s

Is a hare the same thing as a rabbit? Or a *different* kind of rabbit, like we
have cottontails or jack rabbits? I was just wondering, because I drove up at
night the other day and there were rabbits *everywhere*. Bunnies under the car.
Bunnies on the porch. Bunnies running around in the yard and in the field. We
shined a flashlight out in the field and there were bunny eyeball-reflections
bouncing everywhere. It was the weirdest thing.
BTW, the dachshund was lying up against the front door on his back, sleeping.

No. They are different species.

Wow. The interesting things you learn on this newsgroup. And to think all my
life I thought March Madness was just a department store sale.

I actually saw my very first wild hare last year. I was thrilled to bits,
and watched it running around for about an hour.

You find that with pheasants, they rarely listen.:-) It's good to see sigs
