Six Things That Are NOT FAIR!
"Baird Stafford" wrote | [1] In my own defense on this one, the Things that need to be hunted | about which Leila complains are geckos, anoles native to both Cuba and | Florida, and blue-tailed skinks. Baird, I used to live where there were all sorts of reptiles including many things that could drop and regrow tails. My kitties hunted and ate them constantly. The only affliction they seemed to cause was addiction! |

I think that's the most amazing biological defence strategy I've ever heard of. "Okay, predator, have an appetizer"... "MMM!... hey WOW man LOOK AT aLL tHe BrIgHt LiGHtS!!!!!". It is, however, quite successful. The one cat I had that actually caught a blue-tailed skink (before I was warned of the danger) was never quite right, after - but never chased another, either! Or they will explain by one of the special means cats seem to have at their disposal. Jo I have never heard of sashimi. What is it? MLB Raw fish (and sometimes other raw meats such as bef). Served with various dipping sauces, like soy, rice vinegar and wasabi, with a side dish of rice and pickled ginger. Usually the best cut of fish (or meat) is used, and it has to be fresh fresh fresh. It does sound gross to those not used to it, but prepared properly (ie, Japanese style) it is quite nice, but I find it very rich. I don't mind raw salmon and love raw tuna, am not such a fan of other sashimi. Tried wagyu beef sashimi once too. Again, I found it quite flavourful and not as unpleasant as I thought it would be, but wouldn't want too much - its for small delicate little portions rather than a great plate of it as its smooth melt-in-the-mouth texture is part of the overall sashimi experience. Then again, if I order steak I like *at least* medium well done, prefferably nice and crispy on the outside and well done on the inside. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sashimi Yowie -- If you're paddling upstream in a canoe and a wheel falls off, how many pancakes can you fit in a doghouse? None, icecream doesn't have bones. |
