Thats a great idea! But, just in case, could you also send the file in a
comma delimited version (.csv) so that if I hav the wrong version of
Excel,
I can still open it.

Geeks!

I'll take that as a compliment :-)

As Kyla pointed out, its been a long time since we did a census here in
RPCA.

So, here's the census questions (all are, naturally, entirely voluntary and
you don't have to answer all of them). They're in three sections: current
cats, cats that are no longer with us, and about us.

(Please note that if you don't want to put your individual details up on the
group, but would like to have you data included in the final compilation,
you can e-mail me (remove the spam trap). I promise not to publish any data
that can be traced back to any one individual)
~~~
Current cats
For each cat, please answer:
Name:
Gender: (use a star to indicate intactness. ie, a breeding queen would be
female*)
Breed: (DSH, for example)
Colour: (eg, tabby & white)
Age: (if unsure, indicate a 'best guess' with a star eg, "about four" would
be 4*)
Source of cat: Just turned up one day and declared the place home,
neighbourhood stray, given to you, adopted from shelter, adopted from pet
shop, adopted from breeder etc etc
Cinder, spayed femaile, DSH, smoke black, 12 yrs, adopted from Humane
Society at Petsmart
Rosie, spayed female, DSH, gray tabby, 9 yrs, former feral I trapped
and tamed
We also don't want to forget the cats that are no longer with us. Feel free
to list any other cats you have been slave to:
Whe (Rainbow Bridge, Missing in Action, Rehomed, Unknown etc)
Name:
Gender: (use a star to indicate intactness. ie, a breeding queen would be
Breed: (DSH, for example)
Colour: (eg, tabby & white)
Source of cat: Just turned up one day and declared the place home,
neighbourhood stray, given to you, adopted from shelter, adopted from pet
shop, adopted from breeder etc etc
Age if went to RB:
Cause of going to RB (if known):
Blondie, spayed female, DSH, muted calico and white, born to the cat
next door the night our dog died when I was 8 years old, 22, died
under her favorite bush
Mac, neutered male, DSH, tabby, adopted my husband at work and
convinced him to bring him home, 15, unknown
Josh, neutered male, DSH, tabby, adopted from a pet shop when we had
moved and our 6-year-old daughter said she would not be so lonely if
she had a kitten to cuddle. We went all over looking for the perfect
kitten, but all were too wild except for this one in the pet shop who
reached out of the cage and begged her to take him home and cuddle
him. Died at 14 of complications of diabetes.
Moxie, neutered female, DSH, muted tortoise shell and white, was
dumped and our dog and two cats (Mac & Josh) insisted we keep her.
Died at 11* of fatty liver disease.
Don't remember
Eventually *I will compile the results into a set of interesting statistics
(eg, something like "most people here own 2-3 cats, the most poular cats are
DSH tabbies and tuxedos, most of us are between 35 and 60, scorpios seem to
own the most cats, and most of our cats got RB because of CRF at around the
age of 16 or so. This is what I hope will be included in FAQ looks at
China-Doll And Philip Drysdale
Both 5
Wite DSH (China) Greay and white DSH (Philip)
Bequeathed to us in a will upon death of shelter volunteer
Not a one of these is intact, the vet has fixed this problem!
We also don't want to forget the cats that are no longer with us. Feel free
to list any other cats you have been slave to:
Friedrich Amadeus von beethoven, Fritzie, my first love
Black DSH
RB 2003, almost 19 years old, of liver failure
A gift from a friend who also is no longer; not from death but because he
could not live with my choice of spouse
Odessa-Doll Tatyana
Black DSH
RB 2007 of respiratory failure resulting from birth defect, 4 and a half
years old, my poor doll
Remembering with love and sincere prayers for forgiveness
Adopted from shelter
Ginger and Norman, cats of childhood
Ginger ran off three days before he was to be neutered; Norman died of shock
from a flea bath that didn't agree with him. May he also forgive my
immaturity and ignorance, and may Ginger have found a home that wasn't as
full of violence as mine.
About us:
Female 40-45
Born December 1965
Live in Buffalo, NY area
Slave to six, which is the most we've had at once
How long with RPCA?
Since maybe 2004 or 2005. Fritzie had gone into "retirement" by then.
(If you can remember) How did you find RPCA?:
Guy named OJ invited me after seeing a cat post on something called alt.cats.
world.domination. I have no idea what has happened to OJ since.
I am eventually going to finish my novel, and set to work promoting the
religion of Fritzianity.
Blessed be,
Baha
