We lived with him and remained in that house after he passed. I hated cleaning those radiators/ we have a gas furnace in this condo and it sends heated air through the heat registers (vents). I recall my grandparents talking about opening the register on the Parkray coal fire - the register was simply a sliding vent that could vary the amount of air being drawn into the base of the fire (and hence regulate the intensity and output of the fire). -- MatSav |
