So does anyone here "hit" their cats?
Oh, no, never. I even gave up the squirt bottle years ago. I generally just clap my hands and scold them if they're acting up. It doesn't really matter. Whatever they're doing, they're gonna do it after I go to bed anyway. Sherry |

But you're right they just wait until I'm not around to see them and do what they want anyway. LOL. Funny thing is our 4 older (~ 8 weeks old) foster kittens all come running when I say "here baby kitties" or clap loudly. Nadine |

Oh, no, never. I even gave up the squirt bottle years ago. I generally just clap my hands and scold them if they're acting up. It doesn't really matter. Whatever they're doing, they're gonna do it after I go to bed anyway. Neither do I hit my cats. Just loud hand clapping and loud NO's. I clap too. But when one of my cats does something that could be dangerous to them, I say no in a particular voice just for that and they somehow know and they will listen. Well most of the time, that is. I got some new shelving units that are very tall and go to about 10 inches below the ceiling. Mickey thinks it's great fun to get on the very narrow fireplace mantle and then jump up on top of the shelving unit.
