Yep, that certainly shows how dangerous cats can be to babies and why
people need to "get rid of" their cats when they're expecting a baby.

I think the cat put his hand on the baby's head to try to get him to
quiet down. He's probably heard that baby wail before and wanted to
prevent another incident. I've had cats put their paws on me like that
when I was making noise they didn't like, such as laughing loudly, or
singing.

He's a beautiful cat.

They touch for a variety of reasons - cats are so good with touches
and gestures!

One thing that mother cats sometimes do that this reminds me of is to
reach out a paw to a still blind kitten that's wandered a few inches
away from the litter, and has gotten confused. This lets the kitten
guide itself back without the momcat having to get up and disengage
from the other nursing kittens.

The cat's expression at the end says "touch my kitten and you're
meaty chunks in gravy".

While I was at the hospital giving birth. My mother had my husband get rid
of my cat. She told him cats suffocate newborns. When I came home a week
later, I was devastated to find her gone.
