Happy Yule / Litha to all you Pagans out there!

(And may your day be wonderful to all those who aren't)

Thanks! But aren't you two days (or one, depending where you are)
early? Not that I mind.

According to my sources
(http://www.bom.gov.au/calendar/annual/seasons.shtml), the solstice will
occur at about 10:11pm today (my time), IOW, about 11 hours from when this
message was sent.

But the Pagan festival is usually 3 days long, so tomorrow and the next are
also good days to celebrate. And then we lucky ones get to celebrate
Christmas too :-)

:-)

There are no doubt more holidays and festivals on this day than you or I
would ever hope to observe :-)

Happy Pancha Ganapati too! And inthat spirit, please forgive any actions of
mine that have caused you - and indeed this group as a whole - hurt, pain or
harm, and also please forgive any lack of action on my part that have caused
the same. (Pancha Ganapati is a 5 day festival marking new beginnings and a
mending of past mistakes in Hindu culture. It begins today (ie 21st
December))

Forgiven. Same for me if I caused anyone hurt pain or harm. Unless
intended that way of course but I don't think I ever sent anything in
that spirit.

It's going to be 55 degrees (F) on the solistice here in New York
City. That's 12.8 C which is way too warm but I like it. I'm in favor
of just a touch of global warming. Enough to make it warmer where I
live but not flood any Pacific Islanders out of existence.

Mandelbrot? Are we celebrating fractals?

We are having freezing rain here. Good thing it is only for today.
Green Christmas is in the forecast, and I don't mind that one bit.

It is cold here and we are expecting some snow, although not a large
amount. The day looks gray and dreary. MLB
