Ha! He is like Biskit. When *anyone* comes in she hides. She is the cat
I've talked about, have pictures of, but no one ever actually *sees*
her.
My daughter calls her The Uncat.

Sherry

Years ago, when we were still living in California, Nancy and I went on
vacation for a few days. We arranged for my mom and brother to come over
twice a day to check on the cats, put out cat food and water, clean
litters, etc. At that time we had 6 kitties.

When we returned home both of them insisted that we had only 1 cat.
Amelia would come out to visit with my brother, Ranger would come out to
visit with my mom, everybody else hid.

Don't worry.

Waffles is like that, although sometimes people approaching the house see
him sitting in the bedroom window. Otherwise, they never see him. Pickles
is pretty leery of people other than me, but others have seen her, and if
approached right, she will let some people pet her briefly.

My daughter and her husband have two cats. One of them is so good at making
himself scared that when they went away for a week, the pet sitter sent them
an email suggesting he might have gotten out, since she never saw him. He
was there, just hiding.

As they have no idea I have a cat he is perfectly safe. Guns are no-no
here.

since he is so shy i could only come up with one, Lee

Strictly speaking they have the dropped kerb in front of their

On Wednesday I asked them once again and I had to hop with my bad
foot
around to their house to ask. They went crazy. They shouted at me
and I had to tell them not to do so. It seems that they think they
can block it as much as they want, I said but I can't get my car out

I've
been here 25 years and never had a problem with it with my previous
neighbours and they said "we arent your previous neighbours, are
we?"
They have to get my permission to build a wall they want and to take
down two trees that they cannot get to except if they do it on my
land. Strangely enough, I am going to say no.

We have things here that you can put over your curb so as to be able
to drive up and down without needing hte curb to be remodelled and
allowing the water to run down the gutter. The're metal plates and
kinda look like this:

They'd be cheaper than having hte curb re-done.

BTW, I am no expert on law, but if you've been using their curb to
get yor car out for years andyears, then you may well have a 'common
law' right of access over their property and they have no legal right
ot block it.

either way, I hope the situation resolves quickly, with the least
expense possible.

In my part of the UK, "leery" means "aggressive, looking for a
fight". "Wary", on the other hand, means "careful of, avoiding"
(as in "beware"). Either you meant "wary", or this is another
peculiarity of English (US) vs. English (British)!

I've got a mug with a 'thermal print' of a Cheshire Cat on it
(of Lewis Carrol's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" fame) -
said image disappears when the mug is filled with a hot drink,
leaving just a grin.

Aww, I'd love a mug like that. Where did you get it from?

'Twas a present, acquired during a visit to the Fitzwilliam
museum shop in Cambridge: http://www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/. I
don't know if they do online sales.

That's funny! I like it. My Fin was like that - He was with me for 6 years before anyone ever saw him.

Rita, however, will greet anyone at the door and demand to be petted NOW.

That's probably only in your part of the UK, then. It seems most
everywhere else "leery" and "wary" are synonyms.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/leery

(Notice that your meaning is there, denoted slang.)

"Wary", on the other hand, means "careful of, avoiding"
(as in "beware"). Either you meant "wary", or this is another

Are you British, Patok? Do you live in the UK?
Interested to know.
