Base. As a non-native speaker, I am painfully aware of such
international words, that are pronounced the same in all languages
except English. Internationally, it is indeed "bahs", but "base" in
English. Similarly, lichen is pronounced "liken" or "lee tchen" in
English, while internationally it is "lee shen". I could go on...

There's probably more than one answer....tomato vs. tomahhhto and all
that...depending on where you live. Here,
it's pronounced base.

My husband sang base in a barbershop quartet. It's definitely pronounced
"base".

That's a fish, not a singer.

there is one instance of it being pronounced basssss in music, that would
be kip adottas song wet dream with all the fish references.
thought id ad that for snorks. Now im thinking about how much Goofy liked
the blue fabric fish that was tied to string.
I should get another string bait item since that one is gone....

The latter (in American English, anyway - but I think it's the same in
the UK).

pronounced any way but "base" by any musicians I know.)
