I love this video. There's just something about Maru that reminds me so
much of Caliban. That same earnestness in everything he does. And so
funny. How he struggles to get into the lovely box, and how he comes
flying out of it once he's gotten inside. The video is very well edited
too. Those last peeks out of the box - purrfect timing.

I got a kick out of how graceless he looked, dropping himself like
a stone into the box, and then hurling himself out of it. What's that
thing about cats always being graceful?

"I *meant* to do that."

It's one of the phrases I hear most often from Leila - who is the only
cat I've ever known who can fall out of a bed made specifically for cats
that is kept on the floor....

Our Ginger was like that. She could just about fall over walking
across the room. I think she probably had inner ear issues as a feral
kitten.

If he was graceful too, he'd be a menace. I don't think he'd even
stay in that house for very long. He'd eventually figure out how to
climb out a chimney or something.

Good point. If he were as agile as he is intelligent, he'd be running
the world by now.
