"Karen Chuplis" wrote in message ... I don't know what it is about the bathroom. Undivided attention I guess? Good possibility. The 4 year old seems to be constant in her demeanor whether I pay any attention to her or not. The kitten seems to have a bit of fascination with various plumbing items, particularly when she sees water moving - faucets or toilet water swirling. The young one has a few times jumped into the tub with my son and immediately jumped back out without becoming particularly distressed. |

"Mary" wrote in message . com... **** off. Maybe - maybe not. In any case it would certainly take better and stronger than the likes of you to dictate to me where I will post in this section of the Internet underbelly known as Usenet. Despite my dark vision and my propensity for taking glee in the less savory of humanity's ventures, I do have a pair cats in the household which makes my posting of their exploits or questions regarding their health/behavioral items, etc very much on topic and appropriate to this group. If however you wish to put a line in the sand for my consideration, do so at your own peril. |

all five of mine follow me in.. consider yourself lucky that she gets in the
sink.. my little female crawls into my pants around my ankles. I have a theory why cats like to be in the bathroom when you are 'doing your buisness'.. cats communicate with one another with different sounds that are created through exhaling.. I can only imagine what Im telling my kitties when Im exhaling while doing what Im doing.. what ever it is, it must be good.. cause I always have an audience.. "RobZip" wrote in message ... Just tossing this out for observation and comment. I have 2 cats in my household, a 4 year old spayed female and a 9 month old female due for neutering soon. Both are quite contented, well adjusted to each other and the household in general. Both have a normal interest in dominating the attention of their favorite personalities within the home which consists of myself, my wife, and an 8 year old son. The 4 year old cat has developed a habit of following me into the bathroom and snuggling herself down into the sink which is immediately next to the commode where I am seated. Regardless of what she may have been doing prior to me heading to the bathroom, she jumps up into the sink basin, circles a few times and nestles down, form fitting herself to the contour of the sink as snugly as possible. She purrs quite strongly while doing this and responds to petting and verbal interaction normally. At no other time does she show the slightest interest in roosting in the sink. I've heard of other cats who have a preference for sink nesting for whatever reason it appeals to them but this *only* occurs when I am in there using the facility. Recently the younger cat has begun following the 4 year old on these ventures. Not to be outdone, she will hop up on the vanity, circle past the older cat, walk across the toilet tank and climb up on my shoulders to roost. Where did my privacy rights go? It's not like either of them are lacking for attention throughout the rest of the day but why such a heightened interest in me at this rather personal moment? If I shut the door before they arrive, there will be paws under the bottom of it trying to open it. Comments? |
