New cat tree
The new cat tree for the enclosure was delivered yesterday. Luckily, Mum
was visiting me so she could help me screw it together. The colour is a bit brighter than it looked in the picture, but Mir doesn't seem to mind that it clashes with her fur colour. We cleaned up the enclosure and set the new tree in its place, in the corner against the wall, where the balcony of the flat upstairs forms a partial roof over the enclosure. As usual, Miranda immediately went up to the tree and claimed it as her own: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/IMG_1601.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/IMG_1603.jpg As usual, Caliban was afraid of the new-fangled thing at first, but gradually he crept nearer, and finally he made it into the nest at the base: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/IMG_1604.jpg By that time, I think Mir had been in and out of the nest a dozen times already, so maybe he smelled her familiar smell there, and so was encouraged to go in. He's so suspicious of everything new, while Mir is such a brave girl and just goes up to anything new and inspects it. If it meets her approval, she claims it, and this cat tree certainly met her approval. Now she has a place to huddle in/on in the cold winter months when she insists on being outside. -- Marina, Miranda and Caliban. In loving memory of Frank and Nikki. |

I think it's a smug smile. Poor Cali. But really, when you think about it, it took bravery for him to go in it, since he doesn't like new things. What an electric blue! Maybe the faux fur material will last longer with Caliban, since there isn't much to scratch or grab on to. Our tree is lined with that material too. My two are the same when it comes to new things. I have pictures of when I got my last monitor, which came in an oversized box. Before I even got the monitor out, Dot hopped inside the box, looking pleased with herself. Buster had his head under the couch with just his cute splayed out hindquarters sticking out. |

I forgot to mention that Caliban did claim the box right after I'd taken the tree parts out of it. Boxes, he's not afraid of. -- Marina, Miranda and Caliban. In loving memory of Frank and Nikki. |

Mir, as always, looks beautiful. Caliban is gorgeous even though he looks suspicious. MLB |

Mir makes anything match her loveliness. Caliban has a new club house. Hehehehehehe. Pam S giggling |
