There is no chance at all that Kitty Farmcat will get stoned. I
tried her with the catnip mouse, the catnip spray and this new "mild
altering" catnip in a muslin bag that Boyfriend got stoned on.
Nothing. She sniffed the bag of this new fantastic stuff, then went
back to sleep.
She won't ever let me touch her tummy, even though she flashes it at
me and rolls on her back inviting a tummy rub. If I try, it's an
immediate grab by all four paws with 20 claws stuck in my hand.
I've learnt about Kitty now.

pedant mode

Tickle Kitty's tummy, then count the holes in your hand. You'll find a
cat has only 18 claws. ;-)

He is *not* going out tonight. Last
night, foxes woke me up at 1 a.m. going "WoW, WoW. WoW" in front of my
house.

There was a UK guy on the groups a while back that adamantly insisted
foxes do
not take cats. I always wondered about that. I always figured they could
take a
small cat, if they wanted to bad enough. You were right to keep him in.
Not
worth the chance.
Sherry

Foxes are not all that large here. Not like coyotes. Vixens maybe 14lbs,
and dogs up to about 21lbs or maybe a little more.
They seem to like to take prey that won't fight back, like chickens and
rabbits. A cat would scratch them badly, and BF grows larger, maybe 9 lbs
now, young and strong. Most foxes only take cats when their cubs need a lot
of meat at say, 8-16 weeks. April-May-June time.
However, when he's stoned, the safest place is in! He's in now, meatloafing
on my armchair. Not stoned though, I've packed his catnip pouch into one of
those plastic bags that zip up so as not to lose it's scent. or appeal. The
friend who bought it for him told me on the phone tonight to rub it between
my hands before I gave it him again, as it makes the scent stronger. I
shall try that.
Not tonight though.
Mild altering stuff is just for a treat for him now and again ;-)
(oh, you should have seen him! Shy, timid, polite, dignified Boyfriend on
the good kittyweed!!)
I haven't reminded him what he was like...I fear it would embarrass him.

I didn't believe catnip would have any effect (tried the pet shop

get
a hit from it too. Would improve her temper! I wonder what a stoned
Kitty
FC might be like? Perhaps she might show me her tummy to stroke and

not
slash and bunny-kick me if I touch.

Based on my cat's behavior when "stoned," no. No belly touchy, not

clean,
not
stoned, not ever! Not unless you come up from behind her and rub her
sides,
then slowly work your hands down to her chest, where she'll enjoy it for

a
few
seconds before realizing that hey, someone's petting my undersides!, and
jump
away.

Boyfriend has no aggression whatsover. Although he is rather shy, he will
sometimes turn his tummy up for a cuddle and stroke, and put both his

front
paws gently round my hand. No claws. As if to say I trust you to fondle

my
tummy. Awww.. Love him to bits.
