Default Unusual Tail Swishing

Sabastian has a trait I've never run across in a cat. He loves to be
petted when lying on his side on the bed or sofa, etc.; he lies there
purring away and making "air biscuits". But at the same time his tail
is swishing, which I find really odd. With every other cat that I've
had, this type of tail activity was associated pretty much only with
agitation and was often one of the things that let you know that you
needed to keep away. I haven't seen Sabastian really agitated many
times, but as much as I remember he also does the tail swishing thing
then. Anyway, I was curious if anyone else had a cat that swished its
tail when it was happy.

I've heard that Siamese swish their tails when they are happy. Frank's tail
is never still, except if he is very deep asleep. His tail just always keeps
going.

Oh yes, it's been quite common in mine - in fact, the two I have right now
do it a lot when being snuggled. It's not precisely swishing - it's more
"waving" - Chaos loops hers all over the place in curlicues while getting
her head scratched.

Yeah, I think this is true. Pearl's tail is almost never still and she
definitely has Siamese in her and Mom's Petrus who is very Siamese like also
has a never ceasing tail, especially when petting.
