A former co-worker was hospitalized with pains of unknown origins, maybe
appendicitis, which turned out to be caused by an ovarian cyst. She had
surgery and was fine. Another friend had a cyst, but I don't think she
ever had surgery since the pain went away and surgery didn't seem
necessary any longer.

Good luck, and don't panic!

Thank you so much for your support, purrs, advice and experiences. It
has made me feel a little less scared and a little more hopeful. You
guys are the best!

Yes, I had gallstones AND an ovarian cyst at the same time (the two
conditions are unrelated).

Some cysts are quite small and go away by themselves, some need to be
removed. Mine was four inches in diameter when they found it, and six inches
by the time they removed it, it was non-malignant, but had pretty much taken
over the entire ovary, so my left ovary and fallopian tube were removed
along with the cyst. I have a big scar, but I was never going to model
bikinis anyway so it's no great worry. It was classed as major surgery, and
I couldn't sit up for a couple of days, or drive for six weeks. I've made a
full recovery now. Get thee to a gynecologist and find out if it's going to
go away, or if it needs taking out.

Love

Jeanette
