Cruising cats: Cinder's amazing feat
Saturday, March 17, 2006
Galveston, Texas Cinder has met a challenge and accomplished a feat that I'm sure few have achieved. The winds were predicted to be moderate today, and we had a smooth start, but not for long. The report was wrong, and we had a bumpy ride across a stretch of water known as Chocolate Bay, somewhere between Freeport and Galveston, Texas. Just as the waves kicked up, Rosie felt the call of nature and headed for the litter box, with Cinder at her heels. Cinder waited patiently while Rosie, with effort, maintained her footing and dignity while she carefully scratched, used and covered a spot for each of her needs. As Rosie exited the box, Cinder climbed in and also, while the waves rocked the boat duplicated Rosie's efforts. Then Cinder exited the box and deposited the contents of her stomach neatly into a wad of tissues that an alert crew member had grabbed just in time. The winds increased and were howling by the time we tied up at a dock in Galveston four hours later. We will stay here until the weather improves. Posted by Annie, crew for Cinder and Rosie |

Cruising cats: Cinder's amazing feat
Awww, I never thought about cats getting sea sick!
They sound like they're doing great, aside from the occasional toss of the cookies. Hope you all have smooth sailing -- and keep the stories coming! Posted by Annie, crew for Cinder and Rosie I love reading your journal, Annie. I'm sure Rosie and Cinder will be weathered seafarers in no time at all. Best wishes, Polonca and Soncek |
