Default Moving House with 3 cats.

2: Our cats have NEVER been outdoors except on trips to the vet etc. If
I
am to start letting them out, how do I best prepare them to make sure they
return home / don't wander off outside the garden? My garden has about a
6ft wall / fence all the way around it, think this will keep them in?

I asked my vet nurse a similar question and although it might sound a bit
weird, she said the first time you let your cat out, smear her paws with
margarine or butter and they will *usually* sit and lick it all off, taking
in all the smells and sounds and getting familiar with the surroundings.
She said it had worked with all the cats she had taken home in the past (not
just first time out kittens) and they all returned if they got out of the
garden.

Good Luck
Karen ) (Mum to 7 month old MillyCat)

Not the first time I have heard this, my mum & gran have said this to me all
my life...

Very strange
