After reading the posts on the off topic thread about the Beheading Video,
I've decided this is a group I no longer wish to have a part of.

First, that thread should have never been posted here, nor should it have
been responded to (because it doesn't belong here). Second, some of the
responses are absolutely appalling.

Time to drop this group.

Welcome to the newsgroups.

You won't find any newsgroups without some form of trash and off-topic
posts in them.

I suggest you either learn to ignore what it is you don't like or filter
it out with your newsreader program.

Anyone who wants moderated groups can find a crapload of them on yahoo
and other list servers. Those with enough maturity to handle a few
arguments and flamewars can come here and play.

That's why I don't do Yahoo groups. How do people survive real life
if they can't even handled Usenet? :-)

This is an excellent question. And why I sometimes really do want to
verbally slap the sissies who wine about posts they do not like and make
efforts to suppress the poster instead of getting a blinking backbone and
just clicking on past his posts. These "delicate sensibilities" "defended"
in this way turns out a control freak of the worst kind. Never, ever good.
Always good to slap around. I picks me targets.
