Default She Insists

We have half a dozen indoor-outdoor cats in our complex. All of them
are out a great deal in good weather, a bit in more challenging
weather and all but one of them is staying indoors for the duration of
this awful winter.

Cleo, a pudgy older calico, is never one for staying out very long.
But oddly enough she is the only one in the 'hood with the willpower
to insist on going out for a few minutes during sunny periods in the
middle of the day.

She trudges about, under the trees out back, looking really out of
place in scenery that would better fit a lynx, and then she goes home
and magestically asks back in and is readmitted by her Mommy, Joanne,
who has been following her around to keep her out of trouble.

Our cats do not emulate.
