When does your cat drink?
"William Hamblen" wrote in message
... My cat seems to do most of her drinking at night. At least the water level in her dish doesn't seem to change much during the day, but in the morning the water level is way down. Bud Persia drinks all day long. I have a Drinkwell pet fountain and she drinks after I feed her in the morning, then sometimes again while I'm getting ready for work. I see her drinking when I get home; I feed her again and she has another sip. Then I hear her after I go to bed or in the middle of the night lapping at the water. She drinks a lot. (And she just had a checkup, no signs of any renal problems.) She's a perfectly fit kitty. I highly recommend one of these fountains. Jill |

When does your cat drink?

Beats me..... The water level in their dish drops but it's rare to catch either of them drinking and if you do they immediately stop and look as if they been caught doing something embarassing... Isis (RB) used to love drinking water but I suspect she only did it once a day in the morning because she would stick her head in the dish and you could see the water level drop as she gulped it down but you wouldn't see her at the dish until the next day I also had a cat that didn't like being "caught" doing things like eating, drinking, or using the litter box. Betty was dainty that way, and in other ways too. My current two actually seem to feel more comfortable doing those things if I'm around, so I see them drinking often enough. Dot will even occasionally jump in the shower to lick up water drops after I've finished. |

When does your cat drink?

No cluons were harmed when William Hamblen wrote: My cat seems to do most of her drinking at night. I'm not sure, but in the morning, her breath smells of booze, and the bottle on my desk is nearly empty (evil grin). Doesn't it sound like one of those questionnaires? Do you often drink alone? Do you do most of your drinking at night when the hoomins are asleep? Do you hide your drinking from your hoomins? Do you drink to cope with life and its endless need for moisture? |

When does your cat drink?
My two drink many times in the course of a day. They probably drink less at night because they are less active generally. -- Wayne M. |

I suspect in the wild some cats will drink in private so they won't have to share their water source. Molly still behaves like there is nothing so tasty as early morning dew and condensation. I'll see her outside very early indulging is licking moisture off anything that has collected it overnight as though it were some kind of ambrosia. Jo |

Boyfie almost never seems to drink unless I've given him a bit of dry food which he loves so much. It's a treat only occasionally. I've heard it's implicated in bladder stones in boy cats and also in CRF. I don't know if that's true but I prefer not to risk it. He gets wet food manufactured by a company that guarantee they know the farm where the meat has come from and it's not China. Tweed Tweed |
