Well, personally, anyone who really thinks that is cold, callous and
heartless. We're all rooting for you, Tara, and so, so, so sorry for
your loss.

Tara, no need to apologize here! We will watch, or not, as we can
handle, but NOBODY on rpcc (well none of our community, can't speak for
occasional spamming ******s) is going to respond with "just get over
it".

We all know what it is to miss these little furpeople so terribly when
they leave us. Many of us still choke up months or years later when
something reminds us of those who have passed on.

Someone else commented that the loss of a pet can affect them more
severely than losing a person, even - I think this is true and not a
strange thing! A vast majority of the people in our lives come-and-go,
day to day, and our relationships with most people have boundaries.
When my grandfather died, there was mourning that we would no longer
enjoy his company, but he was 95 years old, elderly and distant and had
lived a good long life amongst my large and scattered family. It did
not drastically change my daily existence.

But when I lose my pets, I lose someone who has been a 24/7 part of my
existence and identity, for however long or short a time that was. My
life is led with their part in it a constant, steady factor. And they
demand so little and give so much. To my mind, only a child could
also be that defining. Even my spouse is not *quite so much* part of
my identity (because he's another independent adult who functions in
the world of his own volition, not because I don't love him dearly).

Princess had nothing left in her life and you gave it all back to her,
for as much time as she had. And I bet she gave every bit of love and
energy she had back to you for it. We all know that's worth the
sometimes harsh price and this is a safe place to grieve when grieving
must happen.

All my fur-folks send purrs, and a virtual *hug* from me...

Johanna, of the Furrsome Four...

PS My apologies for anyone who's thinking "just get over it, already!" I
know, I'm pouring out my heart and soul to the world here, but there's no
other way I can think of to express how much this cat meant to me. My
feeling is that although I've been putting these videos together for my
own personal reasons, that people have been interested enough in Princess'
story to warrant posting them here. If it helps people to understand the
plight of homeless animals, then I've done a good thing, I think.

*NOBODY* in this group is thinking "just get over it, already" - *we're* not
ready to get over it yet and it wasn't our furbaby! You're welcome to come
here and pour out your heart and soul whenever and as often as you like.
We'll treat them gently, I promise.

What she said. I love reading the stories here and hearing about the
other kitties, especially the ones who are keeping my Darling Fin
company up by the Rainbow Bridge. I know my friend's cat is there, too.
Last I heard from her, he was dying, and she hasn't called me since.
I'm going to try and reach her tonight.

We're all here for each other, so go ahead and write all you want.

Tara,

That was a beautiful tribute to a very special cat. Never apologize for
love. My heart goes out to you. Hugs & purrs from Idaho.

Your so right Hopitus, I couldn't watch either, but you told it well
she should be proud of herself for the way she cared Jean.P.

I did not make it to the videos, nor will I...just reading her sad story
busted me up good. Bast and the Almighty bless you for giving Princess a
comforting home, food she lacked, and your and her own kind's brand of

love
during her last days of life on this end of the RB. She
is looking down @ you from the thick soft grass of the foot of the RB, not
alone, and as young and beautiful and healthy as she was in her

prime....and
will wait for your
arrival there.

I've had to further compress the original "Strange Currencies" video to
make room for this one, it's now 4.02mb, so if you're on low bandwidth

and
you haven't been able to download it previously, give it a try now.

Warning: some of the footage in this video is from her final hours. I
stopped filming at about 2am, but she's very close to the end here.
Nothing gory, or horrible, but if this sort of thing distresses you,

don't
watch it.

There'll be one more video to follow this one, which is more of a
celebration of her life (and the lives of the other cats who have lived
with me and my family). And then I think I'll be able to let her go.

I hope that everyone can see that "Fly Away" is not a tragic video, but
hopeful.

Have tissues ready. Ghod knows I cried enough putting it together.

Please do make the effort to watch, the videos are very well produced and
although some might find them distressing I for one feel so much better
for having seen them and how beautiful Princess was.
