Ping Dan!!! Conan Update!!
Dan,
I just spoke with Katherine at the shelter and she says just come in and ask for her and you can take Conan. She will be there tomorrow, but she does not have to be there for you to do this. I have arranged for you to receive a PayPal for $200 for the adoption fee, your expenses, and something for you for being such an angel. If it is not there tonight, it will be there first thing in the morning. Rhonda will be able to arrange transportation, I just know it! So I am not going to wait to have the money sent to you You might want to call and "reserve" Conan tomorrow if there is a delay with the flight, so you don't have to have him at home and upset your other cats. Poor Harri is recuperating, so we want her to be calm. As long as they know you are coming, they will not euthanize him. I feel sure he could be fine through after the fourth, even. Yippeeee!!! |

You have preannounced yours will be a deliberate, selective, piece of libel ("ammo, make him *look* like ..."). Wonderful! Send me an autographed copy, won't you. Paperback is fine. I've never had an unauthorized biography done on me before. Make sure you accurately copy/paste, time/date these selectively chosen quotes. Who is "Arty?" Is this an introduction to a pseudo name you will use to protect the innocent? You have a shallow life, "eq". I give you purpose. |

I'm happy that Conan might have a home, but a few things concern me. From your earlier post, you said that you told Katherine that Dan was going to be the adopter, not Charlie Wilkes, rather than find out if out-of-state adoptions were permitted. As a former cat fosterer, I like to know whatever I can about the potential adopter. Throughout this story, I felt confident that Charlie would have to fill out an adoption application, have his vet information verified, etc. Now it seems that isn't going to happen and it doesn't sit right with me. That poor cat has been through enough already and deserves to have the shelter policies - that are meant to protect him - followed. What do we know about Charlie Wilkes? Only what Google provides. From what I've seen so far, I wouldn't adopt a cat to him. Just my 2¢, and with that said, I have to say that all of the pulling together to help Conan warms my heart. He just deserves the best, as do all of the poor little homeless, rejected kitties. -- Cheryl "The clever cat eats cheese and breathes down rat holes with baited breath." - W.C. Fields |

Actually, just in case the shelter won't approve out-of-state adoptions,
I wonder if Charlie would consent to filling out the adoption paperwork, then have someone who has done this sort of thing before do the typical vet verification? That way I believe all parties would be satisfied and this beautiful kitty will end up in his forever home. |

I knew this would happen. You're about to muck up a good adoption. For what it's worth, the OC Shelter did not ask for the name of my veterinary. The only stipulation was that the "free first office visit" had to occur during the first 72 hours of ownership. |

I decidedly don't do cross-postings; the first thing I do is mark the
conversation as read. If someone I know and respect posts a reply I may reply. And yes, I sometimes screw up and hit reply to all without knocking out the other groups. But this post is just another example of some people spilling CRAP over from one group to another. Henceforth, not read. This is how it's done, folks Persia is snoring. I didn't sleep well last night so neither did she.
