Espy has eye problem!
Last week Espy was out in the backyard, hiding under some naked bushes
hoping to snag a bird that strayed too far from the bird feeder in the center of the yard. When he came in, he was squinting in one eye. I immediately took him to the vet and got some antibiotic ointment and have been putting it in the eye twice a day. The squint has gotten much better, but the pupils have been different sizes, consistently smaller in the affected eye. I'm pretty worried about it since reading on Internet that it can be many different problems. I called the vet yesterday and he said that if it isn't better by Wednesday to bring him in again. Naturally I'm going away on Friday so I'm in a bit of a panic. Anyone have any experience with this type of thing? I really don't think that it's a stroke or some brain tumor; it came on very suddenly and seems to just be some scratch from jumping out from the bushes. There has been no change in his behavior. |

Poor Espy. Purrs and prayers that it's nothing serious and that his eye heals quickly. Judith Thanks for the purrs. My vet doesn't have hours on Thursday so I'm getting an appointment squeezed in at 4:30 today just to have it looked at. I think maybe the ointment is causing a bit of a problem since it looks worse after I put it in his eye. It's been 9 days so I didn't put any in this morning and hopefully it will look great later today. Then the vet will say "everything is fine" and I'll leave for vacation happy. |

I thought it looked much better and so did the vet, so no more eye goop and I can had off on vacation without worrying too much about the felines left behind. |
