For someone who came charging in on the dead horse and said they didn't read the saga, you sure have some strong opinions about it. I did read it. I said so. You must have missed that post in all your humping. You initially said you didn't. You're correct; I don't eagerly read every post here and may have missed you saying later that you had. I have no idea what you mean by "humping," either. Is this what your moderated list/group will be like? Just curious. Not unless you're there, sweetie. You know, I've been polite to you and carefully avoided getting personal. (The "nice" was directed at the action of the guy who dropped his cat off at a kill shelter). The fact that you now feel a need to hurl the sarcastic insults puts you in a class similar to all the people you're so upset with for their comments about Philip. I'm sorry to see that. Very classy response, Diane. Unfortunately she got even crasser with me (accusing my of felony animal abuse - of burning my own cat right after I went through 7 different hells, taking two weeks off work to care for, 24/7, my precious fur-baby who was injured during a routine dental cleaning - and then calling me a half-rotted dildo) and I was angry enough to flame her @$$ back. I'm sorry now that I did - it's never fun to lower yourself to that level and wallow in the dirt with them (but I hope you can, in a small way, understand the frustration with this type of idiocy that caused it). I was personally SHOCKED at the great care he gave the rooster. |

PawsForThought wrote: Oh please! Philip dumped the cat because the cat had a cold and he didn't want to pay the vet bill. I don't think he ever really wanted Conan to begin with. He came on here posting about how he wanted a Bengal cat, but I think because some people were encouraging him to adopt, he thought he make himself out to be some sort of hero. Now if you really care, STFU This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard "I don't think he ever wanted a cat" I say oh really? |

I guess I take some offense to the last sentence. I was part of the
"rescue club" and spent quite a bit of time on it. I did not do that to vilify Philip, although I've made it clear I did not agree with his decision. I wanted Conan out of there, he had too much bad luck for one little cat. Philip's attitude after taking Conan back showed no signs of compassion. That topic is a dead horse for sure, but Conan needed help. Rhonda -L. wrote: Honestly, I don't give a **** - they either do or they don't. But Conan wasn't any more "speshul" than any other cat lingering in the shelters. All this brou-ha-ha only came about because of Phillip - and the "rescue club"'s need to vilify him. -L. |

All this brou-ha-ha only came about because of Phillip - and the "rescue club"'s need to vilify him. No, he's not. I decided to help in my limited capacity because it's a cat I knew, in a way. I know that might sound lame, but there it is. It was in no way to vilify Philip. I and others on here tried to help Philip through nursing Conan back, encourage him that Conan will get over it, it is just a URI. He did not post about the vet giving him such a dire prediction and high cost estimate until after he returned Conan. He also stated that the shelter was a high-kill facility. From what we know now about the shelter, it doesn't sound that high kill. What did I get in return for trying to help Philip? I got called a stupid woman and other insults. I never once insulted his age, although I think he did **** me off enough to say **** off or something like that. Oh, I called him Archie Bunker for making racist comments in the police/drug dealer thread, that was before Conan. I'm glad that Conan was rescued, and I'm still doing what I can here to help the local cats. I had no ego involved in trying to help Conan. I committed the sin of wanting to know more about Charlie before we went to such extrodinary lengths to get the cat to him. Forgive me for wanting to screen a potential home, but that's all water under the bridge now. I am grateful to every element that helped get this cat into safe hands. I thank both you and Cheryl, though I do not question your motives. I do question hers. But that is all water under the bridge now too. |

"biggerbadderbarry" wrote in message oups.com... Helen wrote: I've come in on the tail end Helen A dude named Philip adopted a cat, and after a bad Lemony Snicket's episode he took the cat back. Meanwhile, since this is the pussy club, everyone flamed Philip, I mean blamed Philip. They hated Philip so much that it inspired them to rescue the cat. No-one stepped forward to adopt the cat except for Charlie. This made everyone happy. Cheryl brought up the idea, "Do we really know Charlie"... This idea quickly spread throughout the pussy club. Then a couple of dicks, went and dug up google stuff. (A real challenge, very reliable, always in context) They went backwards on Charlie, looked a gift horse in the mouth, and called each other *******s. Really, just a typical day in the pussy club. ROFLMAO !! At this rate, this whole soap opera will be nothing more than a footnote. Fine by me. |

He's a cute little guy and I'm glad he's safe, but I've no idea why he's been chosen to be saved above all the thousands of other cats in US shelters. It seems people here have formed an attachment to him but I still don't know why. Helen Phillip. That's why. They are so much in hatred of Phillip they want to be "Conan's Savior". Because you see, what Phillip did - returning a cat to a shelter when he clearly couldn't handle the cat - an action that the shelter recommends, in fact - is so "EVIL!" That's the only reason. If they really cared, they'd put as much time, effort and money into their local shelters, every week of every year. Like many others on the group do. It is so neat. Nobody needs to do anything to *make* you look bad. All anyone has to do is sit back and watch you do it yourself. I wish everything were this easy. *~sigh~* A classic example of self destruction is yourself ... day in ... day out. Mary is her own worst enemy. |
