Heartwarming story from ASPCA's Animal Watchers
This link was in the ASPCA newsletter and is a nice read for a change.
http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer...tchers&JServSe ssionIdr010=r042wpwxfz.app2a Part of the story: "In spring 2001, conditions were crowded at Montgomery animal shelters. Several area shopkeepers were asked to help by taking in some of the cats, but what was meant to be a one-time program became a permanent one for Martin. Soon, neighboring Elmore County asked her to help them out, too. "The Elmore shelter needs more help because it's a tiny, rural operation that doesn't get much publicity," Martin explains. Rebecca Carlisle, board president of the Humane Society of Elmore County (HUEC), is grateful to have Martin working with them. "Her adoption rate is almost 100 percent," she says. "That's almost unheard-of. When cats go to Ella's, we don't have to worry about them anymore." |
