There have been a few times that I've heard that while Mike was
chopping kindling for the fireplace.

I have wondered for years what the above quote (with "prepare to die"
at the end) was in reference to. I've heard it dozens of times, along
with great laughter, but of course I've had no idea what was so funny
about it.

But now all this has changed, thanks to Wikipedia! I have to confess,
though, that I don't quite understand what chopping vegetables has to
do with any of it, unless holding a knife is as close as you've ever
come to being a swordsman.

And what does it have to do with "WUV"?

INCONCEIVABLE.

Any knife or other blade action is an excuse to quote Mandy Patinkin
from that movie. As is any form of disbelief a reason to loudly
exclaim "Inconceivable!" The Princess Bride is the ultimate gamer's
movie. It has something for everyone. I'm a big Patinkin fan as well
as having been a major fan of Andre the Giant. I met him once (my
then room mate had a passion for wrestlers) and was totally awed by
how kind, gentle, intelligent, and caring he was.

Andre the Giant was a regular at the Renaissance Fair in East Texas when
I was younger so I got to see him annually. He really was a nice person
and very gentle, although the character he presented at the fair was a
bit more in character with the part.
