My drop kerb will be installed. Hooray. Yesterday I had to try and get
back in via my other neighbour's drop kerb which is not easy and takes a
good driver to do it.
She is particularly annnoyed that I had to rev Mr F up to get him in via a
big kerb and a grass verge.
She seems to know the phone number of the daughter and has phoned her to say
how ridiculous it all is. She said the daughter said "we will let her get
her car out if she agrees for our wall to built over her land so we can get
our cars in."
Well, they cannot because it was built by cowboys and if they can try and
get their cars behind the house with the drive they have they are braver
than I am.
I say to them what they said to me when I asked them to allow me to get my
car out.
"It's just too bad for you, isn't it?"

I don't do blackmail. Once I have my kerb in they will get a solicitors
letter about the wall they have built at the end of their plot that is too
far into my garden.

Their attitude is so outrageous (I've changed this trying many other words
and can't think of one bad enough, that I can post here anyway.) it makes
my blood boil, I know how it makes you feel.

The very idea that I am held to ransom about this is ridiculous. They have
a lot of cars and make a point about blocking me in.
This does not work with me and the neighbours are noticing.

Good luck with the drop kerb. Purrs that with it, you can get access to
get your car in and purrs that they move away soon.

It's costing a whole lot of money which I can ill afford, but no-one
blackmails me like this.
We'll see what happens when I get my drop kerb in. It's illegal for them to
block me in then.
I can't go out unless they are and I'm not going round there again to ask
them to move their car and be shouted at.
I would not mind so much if it was not so deliberate. There is room in
front of their house to park but they like to park in front of mine so I
cannot get out because they want me to agree to this massive wall they want.
The answer is no and they are trying to force the issue by blocking my car
in.

Bad luck for them, innit?

Let's see how smug they are when the shoe is on the other foot.

In the USA, you can make them pay for your legal costs, too.

I hope it works the same way in GB.

I will ask them myself first and give them three weeks to get the wall back
on to their side voluntarily. They were so sure that they could force me
into giving them a two foot strip of my garden 40 yards or so long by
blocking me in that they built the wall across the end while I was in
hospital.
I have a good chance of getting costs awarded to me if it comes to legal
action as they were the aggressors in this case and I have the document they
brought round to try and get me to sign agreeing to it.
I'm fairly sure the courts would take a dim view of it, so I expect they'd
like to keep it out of court if possible. I know I would if I'd done what
they have.
It's a shame really, as I like to be on good terms with neighbours. I'll be
glad when it's all over as I've found it to be a horribly stressful
situation.
The final permit for the road works came today so work will start on Tuesday
and take 2 days (at my own expense.)

It should have started on Tuesday but we could not hire a digger until
Thursday.
When I watched my neighbours deliberately block me in today, I thought "make
the most of it.."
I realise that this might be boring to a lot of you, but I have practically
been kept a prisoner in my house for months by this and hopefully by
Saturday it will the end of it.

I could never make plans to go out as I never knew when any of their five
cars would be here (not using the kerb space outside their own house, but
blocking me)
It is so intentional even the other neighbours have noticed.

I have been reading, mostly with my jaw on the floor. I think you are a much better person than I am, but then I believe I'm bigger and meaner than you are. I figure I have a cane for a reason, and if someone wants to find out why, I'm more than happy to show them.

That's the other reason my jaw drops. I get being snots (don't agree, but some people seem to think it's acceptable behaviour), but being so *obvious* about it! Are they unaware of 'witnesses'? Nevermind...

I hope you or a friend has taken pictures -- in case they are ever needed. Good wishes. MLB

I'd love to see a picture of one of their cars being moved with the digger.

Can't speak for England, but here in the US someone victimized like you
would have photographed and videod their card blocking your access on
numerous occasions, with dates set on the camera, and then would have called
in the local TV news department. Once the news people broadcast this, the
local outrage would have been thus that these people would have been ashamed
to show their faces in the local supermarket. People identify with the
victims of such travesty because they figure that if your neighbor gets away
with it today, THEIR neighbor will get away with it tomorrow.

At this point, this is when the police usually step in in order not to be
accused of ignoring crimes in their precinct.

g I don't think I'm a better person than you are, Annie, but I've been
used to having to make considered decisions about how to get the outcome I
want by following the law to the letter. So, however tempting it is to fly
off the handle, I know that we still might end up in court over the wall
issue and I want to be seen to have behaved reasonably and impeccably as
against their attempted blackmail and childish actions.

It is so intentional even the other neighbours have noticed.

Having witnesses is one thing, but having witnesses who are prepared to
support you in court is quite another.

Work started at 8.15 this morning. Already the grass verge and pavement
have been dug up and disposed of, the lowered kerbs are in and the hardcore
in place ready for the new tarmac to be laid tomorrow.
I cannot use it yet, because the concrete under the new kerbs is still soft,
but already my nasty neighbours are parking in front of their own house
instead of mine.
Softly, softly, catchee monkey ;-)
