Such sad news, I'm so sorry for you.

Aggie Marble was dumped in my arms when she was a kitten because she
was "a good pet." The people who had her didn't know she was a feral
cat. She ran under our bed and stayed there for nine and a half years
coming out at night for food and to use the litter box. The day she
walked into the living room David and I just couldn't believe what we
were seeing, we were so glad for her and for us.

Aggie Marble had problems, many problems with UTI's and there were
always litter box situations. We were told by one vet that Aggie also
had ISSUES, that had to be taken care of by a feline behavorist.

Aggie didn't like any of the other cats. She didn't ever like other
people. She often came into the public rooms of the house when food
or treat cans or bags were being opened. Sometimes she would lie
under the dinning room table and watch what was going on but was very
content to not join in and stay under the bed. She didn't go outside
by her own choice.

Aggie Marble was my Girlfriend. We were the only females in a house
full of males for many years. At night she would lie on my
tummy/chest while I read and patted her at the same time. She would
purr and head butt my book.

Her kidneys failed. She and I and Dr. Hernandez worked very hard to
make this all come out alright. But when I took her to the clinic
again she had lost her zest, she was tired, she had started vomiting,
her values were high again.

As I petted her she was so completely relaxed, not a bit tense as she
usually is in the vets office. It was time to let her go to where she
would feel well again.

Aggie Marble was 16 years and two months old. David and I are so glad
that other family didn't want her and we got her. She made quite an
impact on our lives and we hope we did on hers.

Oh Charleen. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I am so very, very sorry to hear this. We'll light a candle for her
journey and I am sure that Four is waiting for her to show her around
at the bridge.

Lots of love,

I'm so sorry. It sounds like she was a special kitty, and that you had a
special place in her heart, and she in yours!

Purrs for your healing!

I'm sorry to hear this, Charleen. I'm glad that she was able to live a
long life (even if much of it was lived under your bed - sounds like she
learned how to enjoy the comfort of a warm human to lie on and be petted
by!), and that she had a peaceful passing.

I still think about Four from time to time, and wonder what his life
would have been like if he had lived. It hasn't been an easy year for
you in terms of furry friends.

{{{{Charleen}}}}

He was such a beautiful cat. I am very comforted by what Helen M said when
he passed on to the Rainbow Bridge: "At least he didn't die under a bush
alone."

Aggie Marble had the best kind of life a feral cat could have I think. We
didn't force her to come out from under the bed, we didn't give her away and
we didn't throw her out. She repaid us the best way she knew how in the last
six years and we appreciated it.
Charleen

Aww...I'm very sorry to read this. I'm sure she knew how much
she was loved. It's never easy to let them go, even if it's
the right thing to keep our furred friends from suffering.

Purrs of sympathy, and for your heart to heal.

Thank you so much Chris. As difficult as it was, and it was very difficult,
her gift to me was to know it was the right thing to do and this was the
time. She was a very different kind of cat and I 'm glad she was part of my
life.

Thank you for your beautiful words. You have such a depth of understanding.
Unfortunatly most of us on this board have gone through this heart-hurting
experience.
Aggie was not an easy cat to live with so each and every good thing that she
or she and I did was cause for joy. I will miss those mini-celebrations.
Thank you for your very comforting words.

Be glad for Aggie because she is going on an adventure we cannot even
imagine. She is without pain and without fear but she remembers you
with love and you may very well know her presence again.

I don't know whether "loners" at the Bridge continue their distaste
for other cats (and for d*gs or humans) I suspect they remain
standoffish but without fear or unpleasantness and make some friends,
possibly slowly. So she won't be painfully lonely while she waits.

Our purrs are for you to get over the understandable pain and feeling
of loss. You did many wonderful things for your kitty as she did for
you. And at the end you did the right thing. As she always knew you
would.

Thank you so much Pat. With four other cats here I am kept busy at their
command. Aggie seldom "said" much but when she wanted something the air
became blue. I don't know where she learned the swear words she used but she
kept going loud and clear until she got what she wanted! One of the many
things I will miss. Thank you for thinking of she and me.

I'm so very sorry, Charleen. Darn, I know how this hurts. I've sent a
message to Tiger, Casper, and Shadow to show her around....

Thank you so much Marina. I remember hearing the recording you did of one
of your cat's purrs. I'll keep that as a positive earworm! Memories, we
have memories of these furry parts of our lives.
