Thanks much.
James "Rob" wrote in message news:WwR9d.4588$gI6.1231@trndny09... I just use plastic grocery bags, tie them up and toss them outside into the big trash can so they don't stink up the house. We keep a little bin by the litter box we just stuff the bags into every time we go food shopping. "JamesJ" wrote in message ... Hi. I would appreciate any suggestions to my question I scoop out my buddy's cat box every day but am having a bit of a problem about how to discard the clumps. If I have a garbage bag that is ready to go out I'll dump the clumps in it but if I don't I put the clumps in a gallon size zip-lock bag, seal it and throw it in my kitchen garbage. I'm sure there's a better way and was hoping for some suggestions. Thanks in advance, James |

I keep a fairly large plastic garbage bucket with a good sealing top
near the litter boxes. It is lined with a garbage bag. When I scoop, I put the lumps in the bucket. Once a week, when I go to the dump, I empty the bucket into the plastic bag containing the rest of the garbage. After I empty the bucket, I put some baking soda in it. I get no smell from the bucket. ---MIKE--- |

I *know* it says the litter is flushable. I just can't bring myself to do it. We have our own septic system, and so we're responsible for the thousands of dollars to fix it if I screw it up flushing litter. Is there anyone out there who can offer some info. that it's really safe? Sherry |
