Exactly. That was my intention. If my first "Kindle" post showed up
in the same thread as Tweed's post and related discussion, then I'm
not sure what I did wrong, as I followed advice that was posted here
the last time this issue came up.

Tweed is using Outlook Express, which behaves in a wildly nonstandard
way compared with other newsreaders

No, it doesn't and if I post medical stuff, it's ok for anyone not to read
it, but when it murfs into "kindle" very soon that is not good.

It looks like a different thread for most of us. It's not obscuring
your original one in any way, except with your software.

If Christina does a basic newsreader block on any thread with Kindle in the
title, then she would not see any of the Kindle posts at all. Simple:
sorted.

Some of those writers got paid by the word. Sometimes that showed in the
finished book.

Writers are paid a word rate to this day. Victorian novels on average run
longer than modern books. I don't think word processors have that much to
do with it. Publishers prefer shorter books because they cost less to
manufacture. They make more money on them. E-books will change that
equation.

Nobody but you sees the thread display for the group like that.

I disagree, one of my friends said "you need to get control of "kindle"
thread as it's got away from helping you".
You may not see it, but I do.
++++++++++++++++
IMHO what you really need is to get another cat and name it Kindle!

It does depend on the type of book. I wrote a number of study guides that
averaged between 400 and 500 pages. I was paid a flat rate plus royalties.
The length was at my discretion. Of course, study guides may be books, but
they are not what most of us think of when we write about books.

OK, you made me google. I had never heard of the phrase "A kindle of
kittens."
So I learned something new today! (And this thread has rather come
full
circle)
Thanks!

We are sending heartfelt purrs that you will continue to enjoy the
antics of kittens. I'll newer forget the fun I had watching the kittens
when I was feeding 13 feral cats.
I remember one night I put out a purple mouse toy for the kittens. The
next morning all that was left was shredded fabric...and not much of
that. Best wishes. MLB

We might also call it "a clutter of kittens". LOL
