Our lot love playing in it - there were little pawprints all around
the house yesterday morning.

But they don't like being out in blizzards. Last night they couldn't
quite tell what the weather was going to be like, and I saw three of
them sitting beside the catflap, each of them waiting for one of the
others to go first. Once one of them had gone out and didn't come
straight back, the others went out too.

It is fairly bright and sunny today but cold. Another storm is on the
way. We have had lots of deep snow this winter. Some of our biggest
snow storms have come in the spring. TuTu ventured out on the back
patio this morning for about 3 minutes. She prefers to be inside. MLB

I've heard the name, but what is bubble and squesk?
MLB

It's fried-up left over veggies from the previous meal, so exact contents
variable in proportion and items. In my case, this particular bubble &
squeak comprised potato, celeriac, onion, carrot, parsnip, cabbage, garlic,
peas...

Personally I love Brussel Sprouts in my bubble and squeak. :-)

I get it! I guess that is where the bubble and squeak comes in. There
is a product called GasX which might help
Vernon. MLB

I know it tastes good, but it sounds awful. I'm actually grateful to
British cooks. Charlie used to be married to one, and I can get away
with darn near anything when I don't actually feel like cooking
supper. Beans on toast anyone?

I stay away from the difficult classics though as mine never measures
up. He still talks about a corned beef pie that his mother-in-law
used to make.

I did inadvertently manage scones this past weekend. No recipe, just
doctored up the shortcake recipe on the bisquick box. He said it was
as close to the real thing as he'd tasted yet. (I mixed up Bisquick,
milk, sugar, melted butter orange peel and some blueberries. Put the
whole thing on parchment on a baking sheet, cut it in wedges and
sprinkled a little more sugar on top. Baked till it looked and
smelled done. Turned out great.)

And non-English claim British food is unimaginative! Actually, a nation
that can produce Shepherd's Pie, Yorkshire Pudding, Toad-in-the-hole and
Trifle deserves SOME credit! (Not to mention Wassail and Plum Pudding at
holiday time.)

Or "Beano" which is taken BEFORE you eat the problem food. (In my
experience, it works pretty well.)

That's funny, I saw a reply to your message before it showed up on my
