Rob Shirk's brain (from Pam)
(Forwarded from Pam as she doens't have access to RPCA at the moment)
I'd prefer to post this in the groups myself, but I'm without home phone service, and, of course, this includes dial up internet. So I'm going in through the school's computer lab. Could someone post this in the group for me? I'm asking for purrs and prayers again for Rob. He is going to be receiving a biopsy on the 15th at the hospital at UNC Chapel Hill. A lump in his brain showed up on the MRI in December and it is either from the treatments he's receiving, or from the cancer coming back. Those who want to send him get well cards are also appreciated. He loved the ones he got after his first surgery. He has almost memorized a version of how he got his Russian hat, and entertained the Neurosurgeon and his assistants with it. For those who I haven't told, Figgertoes, a participant on the cancer suppport board sent her husband's Russian hat to Rob last year. He wears it every where and loves to tell people how he got it. Anyway, purrs and prayers for our car would also be appreciated, as it is in the shop again after being messed up by the local version of Pep Boys, a car care(?) specialty place that should also be known as the destruction squad. Poor Emily is in another repair shop after emergency repairs in Raleigh NC that, combined with the hotel, food, and other bills came up to almost $1000. I am not a happy momma, and I urge everyone NOT to use Pep Boys of any kind to work on their car. Rant over. I love you all, and I'm sorry to read about the losses of Tiffany and Pumpkin. They were wonderful friends and I will miss reading about them. Pam S. Excuse me, while I hack up a hairball. Now, what part of meow didn't you understand? |

He's really, really been through a LOT. It's about time for some good news from his doctors. FWIW: I've heard nothing but bad things about Pep Boys. A friend spent about $1000 fixing the damage caused by Pep Boys. I can remember it coming up on NPR's program 'Car Talk'. Either Tom or Ray said some pretty bad things about them, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Life without cats would be only marginally worth living." -TC, and the unmercifully, relentlessly, sweet calico kitty, Kenzie.
