Default Trying new cat food

I am trying EVO - a canned food by Innova. It's cheaper than Wellness
and seems to have similar ingredients. There are no by-products and no
grains. The cats love it (almost too much) - cleaning their plates
quickly and wanting more. It's about $10 less for a case of 24 cans.
For the time being I will alterate this with the Wellness. I have
gotten fed up with Wellness constantly increasing their prices.

I hope this new brand works out well for you, Mike. Costing less and
them liking it is always a good thing.

Default Trying new cat food- oops

Sometime during the night Amber threw up most of her supper. I'm hoping
it's just an adjustment to a new food. Also. she liked it so much she
might have eaton too fast.

Everyone says you should introduce a change of food gradually. When I
had to switch Persia to k/d she threw it up. It took a couple of days
for her to get acclaimated, I guess.

I suggest that you introduce new food gradually, as Jill said. Mix some
with her old food, and increase the amount over a period of several days.
Many cats will develop diarrhea or will throw up new food if the change is
made too quickly.

EVO is an excellent product. It used to have more calories than Wellness,
so I used it after I adopted Duffy and needed for him to gain some weight.
I would have to check the cans to see if there is still a difference in
calories. If so, I may order a case and mix it with Wellness for Holly.

As well as being inconsistent. The texture of the food varies from can
to can, and I'm talking about cans of the same flavor. My cats love the
salmon & chicken flavor (I think - it comes in the purple can). It's nice
and gooshy. Some of the other flavors have a firmer consistency. So I buy
a lot of the "purple stuff", but sometimes it's gooshy and sometimes it's
more firm. Roxy won't eat it unless it's like half-melted butter - squish,
squish, squish.
