Cosmo is at the vet's awaiting surgery tomorrow. Last night, I noticed
his ear was swollen like a balloon. I took him in, doing the horrible
3-bus thing, in the meanwhile managing to fall again and hurt myself,
Cosmo landing on the side of the carrier, so I don't know if he is okay
or not.

Anyway, the vet said he had burst a blood vessel in his ear. They could
drain it, but it would just fill right up again. They have to repair
the blood vessel. The only option is surgery.

Cosmo is almost 17-1/2; he has CRF and a heart murmur. I am terrified.
But I know what a wonderful job you guys do, and I am hoping for a
miracle.

The surgery is short, about 15-20 minutes. If he makes it through, he
will have a drain placed in his ear for about two weeks.

I don't know if he will make it. I am a mess right now. Please, if you
can spare any purrs for my Cosmo, I would really appreciate it a lot.

I will let you know tomorrow what happens.

Thank you sll so much.
